Big early 2026 + new releases from Pippy + Otobo + Fif + more

we have been hard at work here at SC headquarters with a very robust q1, announcing three phenomenal records. Fif's The lower forty eight, OTOBO's Inside Machines, and Pippy's self-titled debut are all due out in the next 12 weeks.

Fif's The lower forty eight (out Feb 27) is a wild and expansive record that vacillates between knotty guitarwork and thumping progressions, a culmination of nearly five years of writing and recording by Fiona Gurney. This record is a mathy masterwork, and Fiona is an unbelievably talented songwriter. On quieter tracks like the standout "Easy friend", remarkable lyricism and an almost polyglot-ish sense of musicianship are laid bare. We could not be happier to be working on this record with Fif, and I'm so excited for everyone to hear it.

OTOBO's upcoming Inside Machines (out March 13) was preceded by a mini-EP Trapt/WYBM that was released on February 13th. This trio from Albany makes rollicking math rock straight out of the sad cactus archives. Nimble and loud and fun, this record should be a real hit for the Don Caballero-heads.

Last but certainly not least in this early year flurry, Brooklyn's Pippy will release their self-titled debut LP on May 15th. Pippy is a clear eyed, bombastic debut, and Kaley Honeycutt's songwriting is sharp and effervescent. Reminiscent of acts like Dry Cleaning and Body Type, Pippy's high-energy is captivating and relentlessly listenable. The first song on the record, "Angelina" came out February 11th, with a music video debuting alongside it (via Flood Magazine).

We're so honored to have added these three amazing bands to the roster, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear these records! More soon :)
